Writeup of my trip to Dutchland yay~

So on Sunday evening I get the bright idea of watching three movies in a row followed by the Oscars. For those out of the loop, I live in Europe. The Oscars started at 2am here. I got to sleep at 7am or so. Next day, got up at three. This is relevant because my flight was on Tuesday.

Yeah, I'm not so smart sometimes.

Anyway! Somehow I get up on Tuesday, get ready, last minute frantic packing, etc. Have lots of homebaked cookies with me. Bribe friend with some for lift to airport. Wait there for ages because I am paranoid like that. Almost not get let on plane because of age, lame. Triumph in the end. Play some DS while I wait for the flight to board. Flight boring and uneventful, except that we apparently passed right over Rotterdam. Dammit, why can't planes stop along the way. D:

Arrive in London Stansted ten minutes ahead of schedule, twenty mintue delay in getting off the plane. Yay. I have an hour and thirty-five minutes to catch the plane to Amsterdam. Manage to do so because of abandoned security and delays, even though baggage retrieval took like... nearly an hour.

Arrive in Amsterdam after a forty-five minute flight. Discover that Schiphol is actually cool and awesome and not lame as I seem to remember. Get out in fifteen minutes, buy ticket to Utrecht Centraal, get on train about thirty seconds before it leaves, I'm set.

Wait at train station in Utrecht because sister late. Pfft. Go to her campus, eat cookies, doritos, and salsa. Watch SG-1. Begin to remember why exactly I embarked on a nine-hour trip to get here.

Fall asleep at... 5? Oh well. Were going to go to Amsterdam on Wednesday, pfft. Postponed to Saturday after we get up at 3pm or something. Yay. Go into town, where I finally get around to buying Unweaving the Rainbow for Butterfree but naturally get to the post office a minute too late. Decide to send it the next day. Go to coffee shop (as in, cafe. Not pot, really!) Wander around a bit, then head off to dinner in a Thai restaurant. Woot, trip is becomming totally worth it! Head back to campus for gummy candy, Labyrinth (which would usually deserve a post all to itself; Bowie as Goblin King omg), and more cookies. Late night again oh noes. :(

TRY to get up at 12 the next day, fail miserably. Altmer is arriving by train at 1:56, so am worried. Turns out okay, even have time for quick shower. Head off to the train station, pick up Altmer, buy God of War in random game shop, head back to campus for... cookies. Yeah. Spend an afternoon talking about various things. Feels like meeting with a friend I haven't seen in years, hmm. Sister leaves at five for some lame meeting, then Altmer leaves half an hour later so I am left all alone. :( With T1 internet. Hah.

On Friday, nearly get up at 11! But fall asleep thinking am up, and get up at 1. I suck. Oh well. Go into town to pick up Yoshi's Island DS, send off Unweaving the Rainbow. Have a panini with leaves. Heh. Eat leaves. Come back early as sister has class at 4. Do geography homework. Sister comes back, quick SGA episode, then off to dinner with sister's friend. Dinner is an adventure, involving many trips to and fro the two units to get supplies. I stun everyone with my cooking and prepare Feta cheese in marinade. Sister + friend have couscous adventures. Laugh. Dinner quite delightful, especially since cookies not all gone. More Stargate after dinner yay~

Try to wake up on Saturday to go to Amsterdam. Am tired. Decide to ignore Amsterdam, as have been there twice before. Instead, laze around trawling youtube, watching more Stargate (omg SGA 3x17 and 3x20 wah :( ). In evening, sister goes out to gig. I do Technology project bah. Sister returns, watch more Stargate yay.

Wake up today at EIGHT AM JESUS FUCKING CHRIST and somehow have a shower, pack, etc. Get to train station at 9:30, have breakfast. Train to Rotterdam leaves at 10:17. Get on. Arrive in Rotterdam 11. Train for Brussels leaves 11:24. Arrive in Brussels 1:15. Train for Charleroi leaves 1:45. Arrive in Charleroi 2:30. Bus for airport leaves 2:50. Arrive in airport 3:10.

...yeah, that wasn't fun. Spend time waiting at airport, play Mario Kart DS. Own some more staff times (read: one.). Check in, navigate weird Belgian airport, wait for boarding. Board. Flight uneventful. Get out alright, get home. Am dead. Finish Tech. project.

Maybe I will write more tomorrow. Am tired now.

But I must mention that I have now beaten SEVEN staff times on MKDS. Another three or so are within my reach!

Oh shit school tomorrow!
